Saturday - Vampyr Hunter's Journal with an extra Surprise..

First: Mr Bear's Beef Stew with the Secret Scottish Ingredient - the Fork Review: (from the look of the pot on the stove, scraped so clean I can actually see the bottom, I would say it's a Definite Five Forks!) Thank you Ms Staff for letting me in on the Secret!
*** What I have been working on...
I have thoroughly enjoyed the process of making this Vampyr Hunter's Journal as realistic as possible. The 'leatherizing' of the printed copy paper was an exercise in chemistry but I think I got it right this time round. As I didn't want any stickiness, I didn't use any ModPodge on this project: instead I found a wonderful adhesive called PPA (perfect paper adhesive) which really lives up to its name! Expensive but worth it if you do a lot of thin tissue paper collage like me and want it to be as wrinkle free as possible (works!) or are trying to 'leatherize' plain old printed copy paper.

(If you do want to use ModPodge, I find that a light dusting of cornstarch or talc and then wiped off with a damp cloth seems to help with the 'sticky' problem)
The Vampyr Hunter's Journal and Maps were downloaded from a wonderful site which is just chock full of Hallowe'en Spooky Goodies called  How To Haunt Your House - just look under Download and as they say, ''fill your boots'
When I finished putting my Journal together, I discovered that my back page was good inch shorter than the rest of the book. Darn. So in a moment of sheer brilliance (if I do say so myself) I made it into a pocket and inserted this little Surprise.
It's a Miniature Wizard's Grimoire - I think my friend's son will love it (if his Dad doesn't snag it first! )
I got this InGenius Idea from an amazing lady online called Fiona Jennings who has the most wonderful youtube videos out there on 'how to make' stuff! Check out the Jennings644 Channel!

Blessings to all those who are having a Good Crafty Weekend and are pointedly NOT looking at how many days there are left until the Silly Season Starts!
PS.  Hands up all those who miss Buffy the Vampire Slayer? Mine is waving madly.

  5. Thank you Shirley! Were you as surprised as I was to find out about Dawn? I had totally forgotten about her origins. Just shows you how wrapped one can get in a series. and Angel and Buffy SHOULD have come together in the end. just sayin.
